Gerald Hovenden

Team Rector

Gerald came to the parish in 1998, having previously served as Team Vicar in South Gillingham for seven and a half years. Before that he spent five years in France (Lyon/Grenoble), and four years in Sheffield (where he served his curacy).

Gerald has written an academic book about speaking in tongues and is now working on a PhD looking at how (St) Paul dealt with divisions and disputes in the early church.

He is currently Chairman of the Southborough Fellowship of Christian Churches and the Diocesan Council for Health and Healing. He is married to Pat, and they have three children (Rachel, Matthew and Lydia), a dog (Poppy) and a rabbit (Bertie).
